Our four-year-old neighbor Sophia came over and said hello to Susan a couple of days before the St. Clair-Bluewater expedition. Sophia didn't go along with us on Saturday.

But of course Molly, pictured below, did come. She introduced an element of treachery, too. At the first photo op, when Susan and I got out of the car in Algonac, Molly ate the Oreo cookies that were in a bowl in one of the cupholders.

Molly asks, "Any more cookies? The Oreos were scrumptious! And if you hadn't put the picnic bag way up there on the dashboard, I would've snarfed up your maple creams, too."

Some in the neighborhood were unable to unbury themselves and join the St. Clair-Bluewater expedition.
